General Remarks
Specific Remarks on Courses
Theoretical Astrophysics
(WS21, Robert Feldmann) This course is held at UZH with Prof. Feldmann, so remember to register at UZH as a mobility student in time!
I didn't end up finishing this course because it required a lot of knowledge prerequisites from physics and especially statistical physics, so I wasn't able to allocate enough time to study for this course. Other than that, the course seems to be well-taught, and the TAs are very helpful if you send an email directly to them.
Theoretical Cosmology
Computational Astrophysics
(WS21, Lucio Mayer) This course is held at UZH with Prof. Mayer, so remember to register at UZH as a mobility student in time!
This is a fairly relaxed course, and focuses heavily on the project that you need to complete until the oral exam. You have multiple choices for the project, for example you can write an optimized (tree-code, particle-mesh) N-Body simulation or SPH solver. There are several optional coding exercises handed out during the semester.
I had some course overlaps, and missed several lectures. Nevertheless, I was able to follow the course using the slides and well-written script.
